Texas Trucking Accidents

Unlike other states, Texas has one of the highest amounts of tractor trailer accidents in the United States. The Department of Transportation (DOT) indicates that an estimated 15,220 tractor trailer accidents occur every year in Texas. To make matters worse, the amount of fatal and non-fatal crashes from 2003 have been on a constant rise, going from 12,100 to 18,785. This translates simply to more injuries and deaths on our highways and roads. Many of these tractor trailer accidents could have been avoided if those operating the truck acted more responsible while on the road. Any collision with a tractor trailer will mostly result with serious injuries or even death. Often, it is the driver and occupants of the smaller vehicle that will sustain the damages, even if the collision was not their fault.
